The QuickSilver Drilling System is the latest innovation in quick moving
and cost-effective drilling rigs. Available in 1000, 1200 and 1600 horsepower,
the QuickSilver design allows the operator to be more competitive through
economy of movement, safer operations and reduced rig-up/rig-down time.
The entire rig can be rigged down transported up to 100 miles and rigged
up on a new location within 48 hours. Elevated components are raised with
fully integrated hydraulic cylinders, and no cranes are required. The rigs
are complete with multiple skids that contain unitized subsystems enabling
the entire rig to be transported in as few as 18 truck loads.
The QDSL is designed for use in areas such as the Marcellus field where
load size and weight are restricted. This unit incorporates a 1000 horsepower
AC drawworks, a 108 foot doubles mast with a hook load capacity of 268 tons
and a quick move/self-elevating substructure with a drill floor height of
22 feet and a clear working height of 18 feet.
The QDS design is available in either a 330 ton hook load capacity with
a 1200 horsepower drawworks or a 375 ton capacity with a 1600 horsepower
drawworks. Both incorporate a quick move/self-elevating substructure with
a drill floor height of 22 feet and a clear working height of 18 feet.
The QDSH design is identical to the QDS series in hook load capacity and
drawworks horsepower, but has a quick move/self-elevating substructure with
a drill floor height of 26 feet and a clear working height of 22 feet 6
inches.
The QuickSilver Drilling System employs state of the art technology offering
unparalleled control over the entire drilling process on all options. The
complete power and control system features proprietary variable frequency
AC drives designed, assembled and integrated by Global Energy Services.
Drives rated 1000, 1200, and 1600 horsepower are available, and when combined
with the GES Automated Driller’s Cabin, eliminates issues with multi-sourced
product integration. The high-efficiency AC drawworks has no chains, sprockets,
clutches or water-cooled brakes. Braking is provided by AC traction motor
regeneration.
